Planning

To make the most of your time, it is best to create a study plan.

The following prompts can help you with that.

Copy one of the prompts below using the copy button in the top right corner and try it out in a language model of your choice.

Take on the role of an expert learning coach. I want to create a study plan to achieve my learning goals and manage my time effectively. My main goals are [fill in goals], and I have about [number of hours] hours available each day to study. I prioritise [subjects/topics]. I want to regularly evaluate my progress and adjust my plan if necessary. Can you help me with a detailed study plan that takes all these factors into account?

Take on the role of an expert learning coach. Ask me the necessary questions one by one to create a study plan together. Follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Ask which tasks I need to complete. For each task, ask whether it is an assignment or preparation for a test.
  • Step 2: Ask me to estimate the difficulty of each task (easy – medium – difficult) and how much time I expect to spend on it. When creating the plan, account for a 20% time buffer for difficult tasks.
  • Step 3: Ask which task I want to start with, how much time I have available in total, and what time I want to begin.
  • Step 4: Create a study plan and check that it follows these general tips before sharing it. The plan:
    • clearly describes the tasks I need to complete and follows the SMART principle for each learning goal;
    • is realistic;
    • includes one or more short buffer periods to catch up on any delays;
    • alternates between different types of tasks and does not schedule all the easy ones back-to-back;
    • includes regular break periods;
    • for test preparation, allocates time for self-testing twice, with these sessions spread out after study time;
    • provides a study tip for each task;
    • suggests an energising, relaxing activity for each break;
    • ends with a motivating quote.

Present the plan in a table with the following columns: task, estimated time, start time, end time, task description, and study tips.
